Project Performance

Shell Canada Ltd.
Scotford Refinery
Fort Saskatchewan, AB.

Chemco has been performing electrical and instrumentation work at the Shell Scotford Complex since 1993. The work has involved construction of major projects, small projects, and maintenance of the existing plant. Completed in the fall of 2002, Chemco performed more than 400,000 man-hours of work on the Scotford Mods (Refinery Modifications), which was modified to accept product from the new Shell Scotford Upgrader. The work Chemco Electrical performed on the project involved two separate subcontracts. One subcontract included the electrical and instrumentation work for the modifications to the existing refinery. The other entailed the scope of work to supply the labour, material, equipment, and services to provide and install the power distribution for the electric heat tracing system for the Refinery Mods. Chemco Electrical's work on the small projects and maintenance at the Shell Scotford Complex and the Shell Marketing Terminal has been ongoing for almost fifteen years. Shell has presented Chemco with the Vendor Excellence Award in recognition of consistently demonstrating superior performance and alignment with Shell's operational excellence goals and business principles.
